CiViC is a group of citizens dedicated to providing a voice in city government for the people of Columbia. We are a multi-partisan, non-partisan group comprised of Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, liberals, conservatives, Tea Partiers, Green Partiers, Blacks, Whites, Hispanics, and the list goes on. We are dedicated to holding our elected and appointed government officials accountable for their actions and we demand transparency in our government.

Citizens InVolved and InVested In Columbia (CIVIC)
Congratulates Council for Restoring Democratic Participation
For three months, the citizens of Columbia demanded that the City Council rescind the action taken by resolution on February 6 to blight the city and create an EEZ Advisory Board without adequate public input. After we gathered over 2100 signatures in support, last night, the City Council responded to our demands and voted unanimously to rescind resolution 20-12A in its entirety. CiViC congratulates our Council members and City Attorney Fred Boeckmann for recognizing the deficiencies in the process and for having the courage to start the process over.
We look forward to working with Council and with REDI on the development of an economic policy for the City of Columbia that is consistent with our community, infrastructure and economic needs to sustain the conditions that have made Columbia a model for the state and the nation.
